Watch a Movie and get Extra Credit
Movies and TV shows very often use actual historical events as the basis for their plot. Movies like “The Patriot”, “300”, and “Blackhawk Down” were very exciting, but how accurate were they? Everybody raved about the HBO miniseries “John Adams,” but did it tell the truth about John Adams?
Your assignment, if you decide to accept it, is to watch a movie based on actual historical events and then demonstrate how the film represented the events upon which it was based. The event must be historically significant. Your original report must be typed, Times New Roman font (11pt), 1.5 line spacing, and 3-5 pages in length. This assignment will be worth 500 pts (about 5 assignments) in social studies. If you need to get bring up your grade in Language Arts then work on Skills Tutor.
This assignment will be due the Monday October 12th.
